Baptism.

Last year in 2013, I had inquired about being baptized.  The church had said that the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) classes were not held over the summer and that someone will contact me in the fall.  Well, somewhere in between then and 2014 I never got a call but was still interested.  So I talked to Father Leon about being baptized and because I was raised catholic I was allowed to join the  RCIA group in January.  So in January I started going to the classes.  In the classes we learned about the catholic faith and how to have a better relationship with Jesus.  Then we had to go through other things like the Rite of Election at the Cathedral of Blessed Sacrament downtown. There I got yo meet Bishop Jaime Soto!

Then on Saturday April 12, 2014 we had a retreat with our sponsors. The first thing we did was choose a picture off of three tables... One that would describe our faith. The picture I choose was one of a boyscout with some type of frog in his hand. He was utterly amazed at the frog & he was smiling. I chose that picture because I believed that as my faith grew stronger, my view of the world was like the boys.. I was seeing things in through new eyes & I was amazed.

Then on Holy Thursday I went to the Holy Thursday mass.  It was such a beautiful mass and I got my feet washed by the priest as a resemblence of Jesus washing the 12 disciples feet.

On Good Friday I went to the 12 on mass & it was also a beautiful mass where the message was about the crucifixion of a Jesus Christ.

Finally on Saturday April 19, 2014 I got baptized, the mass started in the dark and everyone had candles. Then the candles went out & we were in darkness for one hour. After the readings, the lights turned on & I was baptized!! It was truly an amazing experience and I know this blog will never truly capture the true emotions I experienced but I hope you enjoyed it & here are some pictures.
