Lent 2014

I've grown up as a Catholic in which I have participated in lent since I could remember but I this lent season is special to me because at the end of the lent season I will be getting baptized and become a full fledged practicing Catholic. So this year for lent I decided instead of just "giving up" or sacrificing a few things, I am also going to do things to build a stronger relationship with God and strengthen my Catholic faith. So here are a list of things I shall be doing for Lent.

Sacrifices

1. Shoes. Everyone who knows me know I have a shoe obsession. I love shoes. I love buying them. I love wearing them. For lent I pledge to wear only one pair of shoes (and my workout shoes of course) and also not buy any shoes until after Easter.

2. Social Networks. I plan to not use Facebook, Twitter & Instagram during the lent season.

Here is a list of things you may want to give up or add for lent:

Additions

1. Daily prayer. I am trying to make a routine of praying instead of when someone asks me or when bad things happen.

2. Meditation. I want to practice on having a clearer more peaceful mind.

3. Rosary. Once a week.

In addition to my sacrifices and additions, I am going to do #CRAK - Christian Random Acts of Kindness which I have listed below

Lent blog ideas it will be doing starting tomorrow are listed below

I encourage you all even if you're not catholic to participate in something for lent.. Either sacrifice, building a better relationship with God, participating in #CRAK or using the Living the Question blog.
